General Advertising and Marketing Policies

ADVERTISING REVIEW
All advertising MUST be reviewed and approved by AFN’s Marketing and Legal Departments. This includes, but is not limited to: Print, Email, Website, Video, Radio, and Blog. Marketing in iConnect is pre-approved for use. The Company requires that all Advertisements be truthful and non-deceptive or misleading.
BUSINESS CARDS
Employees must order business cards through the AFN Store to ensure compliant and approved business card designs. Employees are not permitted to order business cards by any other means without prior written approval by the Company’s Chief Compliance Officer. Business cards must contain the employee’s name as it appears on all applicable licenses, as well as the employee’s license number and unique mortgage loan originator (“MLO”) Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System & Registry (“NMLS”) identifier.
BULK EMAIL ADVERTISING
All email marketing must go through approved systems, either iConnect or an AFN-permitted CRM such as Velocity. Emails must be reviewed by Marketing and Legal in advance with the sole exception of emails in iConnect, which are pre- approved.
CAN-SPAM
You must have a valid “opt- in” for any email marketing that you conduct. Per CAN -SPAM, you can email those who have inquired within 90 days and those you have closed a loan for within 18 months.
COMPANY NAME
The company name is American Financial Network, Inc. and can be referred to as AFN once the full name of the company has been displayed on the piece in a more prominent placement.
EMAIL ADDRESS
AFN requires employees to conduct all Company-related email communication through a Company-issued email address. Employees are not permitted to use any unapproved domains or personal email addresses for Company business. Company-approved email addresses include @afncorp.com and/or @orionlending.com. When you are sending out emails to customers and prospective customers, you are advertising yourself and representing AFN.
FEDERAL DNC
Any telemarketing efforts must be approved by Legal. You are required to scrub all numbers against state, federal, and in-house Do Not Call (DNC) lists and maintain a Branch DNC list. Employees are required to notify AFN’s Marketing department prior to engaging in telemarketing activities in order to ensure they are scrubbing against accurate DNC lists. Notify us of anyone who has asked to be removed from our call list.
MEDIA RELATIONS & PR
Employees are not permitted to speak with the media without first contacting AFN’s Legal and Marketing Departments. Please contact corporate to work with an approved company representative. All press releases, media stories, and interviews must be approved through corporate prior to release or publication.Employees are prohibited from posting rates, offers, payments, or scenarios via social media. You are liable for your social media accounts and communications. If in doubt, leave it out!
